Secret - 7

Secret 7

We take 7 tracks from 7 of the best-known musicians around and press each one 100 times to 7” vinyl. We then invite creatives from around the world to interpret the tracks in their own style for every 7”. 700 sleeves are exhibited and then sold for £50 apiece. You don't know who created the sleeve, or even which song it's for, until you have parted with your cash - the secret lies within.

After looking through the artists i decided i would go with The Maccabees i have seen them live a few times and i really like their music.

Taken from this London band's critically acclaimed third album Given To The Wild. It will be the fifth and final single taken from it, ahead of the release of a new album in 2015.

The Maccabees lead singer Orlando Weeks has revealed a six track EP under the name Young Colossus.

Released in conjunction with an animated book of the same name, Young Colossus is entirely the work of Orlando - the first time he has recorded solo away from his 'Given To The Wild' bandmates.

Young Colossus is an illustrated book with a 6-song soundtrack available exclusively online from March 26th. Limited to only 1500 copies the book has 24 pages, 3 spot colours and a double gate fold cover. All illustrations were done by Robert Hunter who has previously worked with Elbow.

Lyrics for the song-

Left you, left you there in, there in the sunlight
In the sunshine by the windowsill in the kitchen
In light of what was to come it was not enough

Just like, like the cardboard, the cardboard that covered
The missing panes and cracks in our bedroom windows
We should have known they wouldn’t keep out the cold
It was not enough

It’s not enough, it’s not enough,
It’s not enough and it never was

And they’ll call out with a name by, a name by which I’d never call you
And we’ll grow out when it’s time
And the skins we’ve known no longer fit us
It’s not enough and it leaves you tired

See you, see you there in, there in the sunlight
In the sunshine by the windowsill in the kitchen

And they’ll call out with a name by, a name by which I’d never call you
All things being well still feel it was not enough
