Primary Research - Village book Store

PRIMARY RESEARCH - VILLAGE BOOK STORE

Today i went into the corn exchange and visited the village book store for some primary research i have been to the book store before but i wanted to see what new material they had so i could get some inspiration for a number of briefs i am doing mainly for my LCA magazine i am collaborating with Sam Cook on.

They had a number of publications that would be relevant for the brief. Especially Cereal magazine..

CEREAL MAGAZINE

I really liked the aesthetics of this magazine it used large image bled across double pages and the use of bold titling with minimal pages using lots of negative space.

Volume 7 features extensive chapters on New York, Marrakech, and Cereal’s hometown of Bristol. Within the interlude article Cereal discusses the influence of mid-century chairs, then take a trip to the seaside town of Portmeirion. This issue also features a new lifestyle section called Curated by Cereal which is a considered selection of objects they love.
