Brief 03 LCA Magazine - Initial development & brief

Brief 3 - Leeds College of Art monthly magazine.

Sam and i decided to work on a collaboration , he already had wrote a similar brief to produce a magazine for leeds college of art to showcase students work we decided this would be the perfect brief to work on together as we are hoping to do a pitch for the year book. We are both share an interest in editorial design and feel this will be the perfect brief to work on together.

For our first meeting we decided to re-write the brief making sure we had the same idea and the mandatories and deliverables were exact.

 We made a list of the things our student magazine could possibly include so we can make a start on collecting some information.

• Events & information

• Arts & culture

• Students union

• Notes from tutors

• Students from each course work.

• Interviews with students

• Selection of work.

We also made a list of considerations:

• Content

• Pages

• Cover

• Printers 

• Layouts

• Costings & Reproduction 

• Student selection 

• Stock

• Photography

Plan of action:

• Research some editorial design and look at existing examples.

• Speak to Amber to arrange possible interview with Dr.Me

• We need to come up with a list of questions.

• Speak to Tom about contacting courses.

• Look at Nest magazine.
