Brief 01 - Minimal Design/Patterns

MINIMAL DESIGN/PATTERNS

Before i can begin designing i needed to do further research into some minimal design and some pattern design. I feel as though having a small pattern featured on my skincare brand will keep the product having a high end finish but still make it look aesthetically pleasing.

Monochrome minimal branding-

I really want to get stickers printed for my brand to feature the ingredients on the side. I like the idea of having the patterns on the side this is something i will experiment with.

Patterns coming up from the bottom of the box-

The use of the monochrome colours on these two brands works well as a whole even though some of the patterns and styles on the packaging are different.

 Illustrative pattern/design-

I love this style of pattern with the intricate lines and swirls i want to experiment trying to produce something similar so i can test it on my packaging.

SYMBOLS-

After looking at patterns i then began looking at symbols.I wanted to look at symbols that represented good energy , positivity and health to reflect the ethos of my brand.

Ocean Energy - This is a logo for a company in Australia it is an energy symbol.

I love these small designs i would like to design something symbol for the different styles of products i have in my range. They would be a signifier and something to help people differentiate between the products.

After looking at these small energy symbols i few of them stood out to me and reminded me of a place we visited in one of the theme parks in America which was moroccan themed.

Primary Research - Moroccan Patterns

I loved visiting this moroccan themed part of the park. Each different section featured different colours and different intricate shapes and patterns.

I would like to try and create a pattern using this archway to incorporate with in it.

I next decided to carry on the Moroccan research and doing some secondary research.

I think it would be a good idea to next create my own designs putting elements from the energy symbols i researched with some of these moroccan patterns together. I am glad my research progressed as i went through and i hope my pattern design will be successful combining the most interesting parts of the research i have found.
